Bishkek, Feb. 1, 2019. /Kabar/. The problems and prospects of event tourism in Kyrgyzstan will be discussed in Bishkek on Friday. At the forum “Problems and Prospects of Development of Event Tourism”, representatives of business and government met to discuss the accumulated problems and try to find ways to solve them.
It is noted that currently festivals and other various tourist forums are held erratically, which is inconvenient for potential tourists who plan their trips in advance.
“It is necessary to change such a situation, and take it more seriously as business. After all, the holding of such events should demonstrate the traditions of the country,” Deputy Minister and Director of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture Maksat Damir uulu told.
Event tourism is unique tourist offers that include, apart from traditional leisure, participation in the most interesting events of the country, such as traditional ethnic games, national holidays, arts festivals, competitions, exhibitions, sports events. This is a promising and dynamic form of tourism.
Event tourism is an additional source of attracting tourists in the offseason and often serves as a tourist attraction for a whole year.
Currently, event tourism has been chosen by such countries as Germany, Italy, Hungary, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, etc. as a priority for the development of tourism.
