Development of women's innovative potential discussed at Dialogue of Women of CA

Bishkek, Nov.15, 2024. /Kabar/. Bishkek hosted on Friday the Third Final Meeting of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian countries under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that the Meeting discussed issues in the sphere of creating conditions for the development of innovative potential of women in Central Asia.

Representatives of parliaments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, international organizations and others took part in the event.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev dwelt on the main achievements of the country in the sphere of economy, adding that economic growth amounted to 9%.

Emphasizing that women's entrepreneurship is actively supported in Kyrgyzstan, he paid special attention to the “One Product - One Village” project, as in its implementation the key role is played by women, whose products are already exported.

“It is important for us to create all conditions to support women. Three strategic documents were adopted to support and develop business and entrepreneurship, including women's entrepreneurship,” Torobaev stressed.

Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UNRCCA Kaha Imnadze noted that Kyrgyzstan successfully chaired the Central Asia Women's Dialogue in 2024. He paid special attention to the organization of high-level events and expressed gratitude for the effective work.

Deputy Director of the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia Elisa Fernandez Saenz said that in recent decades, women have contributed to the development of the economy, actively working in the field of science and innovation, emphasizing the need to develop mechanisms to support women.

In turn, Acting Resident Coordinator of the UN system in the Kyrgyz Republic Matilda Bogner added that the main topic of the Dialogue is dedicated to supporting women innovators and inventors, adding that it is necessary to develop effective tools to realize their potential.

The meeting participants shared their experience of national practices in supporting women innovators and inventors in three interactive sessions.
