Bishkek, May 14, 2022 . /Kabar/. Last year, digestive organs accounted for most cancers in Kyrgyzstan, specialist of social statistics department of the National Statistics Committee of the republic Aigul Bakaeva said during a press conference in Bishkek.

She noted that in the country, neoplasms in the body are the second cause of death after the disease of the circulatory system.

Thus, diseases of the digestive organs account for 32% of the total number of recorded cancer cases, breast cancer, respiratory organs - the trachea and lungs - 12%, and skin cancer - 5%.

“As of the end of 2021, there were 39 people registered with oncological institutions in the country, of whom 68% were women," the specialist informed.

Bakaeva also noted a downward trend in morbidity over the past 5 years.

Thus, since 2017, the level of cancer decreased from 256 cases to 216 cases per 1 thousand people.
