Digital economy growth will open new prospects in all spheres of EAEU countries' dev't: Acting PM Novikov

Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2020. /Kabar/. A growth of digital economy will open new prospects not only for economic, but also for social and cultural development of countries of EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Artem Novikov said at a regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

"COVID-19 has become a catalyst for the development of digitalization and its application in all spheres of life. With the emergence of the virus and the introduction of social distancing measures, the speed of digitalization of the economy has increased significantly. Joint implementation of digital projects will lead to overcoming borders, creating new jobs and removing barriers. It is the way of development of digital technologies that will create the basis for removal of any obstacles and restrictions on the way of building a single market of services,” noted Novikov.

According to the acting prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, there is need to strengthen work on liberalization of services sectors in the domestic market of the Union.

"As part of the digital agenda, a project "Work without Borders" will be developed, which contributes to the formation of a common labor market, accelerate the free movement of labor and ensure the mobility of labor resources. In the process of forming common services markets it is important not only to harmonize the legislation of member states, but also to take measures to liberalize and deregulate the provision and supply of services in the countries of the Union", concluded Artem Novikov.
