Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2018. /Kabar/. First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova discussed prospects for the implementation of investment projects and promotion of trade and economic cooperation with Coordinator for International Economic Relations of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Personal Representative of the Prime Minister for G-20 cooperation, Jonathan Fried, as well as with Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade of Canada Omar Alghabra, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During these meetings, issues of development and intensification of trade, economic and investment cooperation, expansion of ties between the business communities of the two countries, provision of technical assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic from Canada, as well as implementation of joint projects in the socio-economic sphere and the search for sources of their financing were discussed.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic also took part as an observer in the meeting of the International Joint Commission, during which it familiarized itself with the current issues of development of cooperation between Canada and the United States in the field of mutually beneficial water and energy cooperation.
Along with official meetings, a number of meetings of Kemelova with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora living in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal were included in the program of the visit.
