Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2018. /Kabar/. A diplomatic reception devoted to the 27th anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan and the 90th anniversary of world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov took place in Kiev. The event was attended by officials of ministries and departments of Ukraine, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations accredited in Ukraine, public organizations, intellectuals, business structures, as well as representatives of the diaspora of the Kyrgyz people living in Ukraine.
In his solemn speech, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Ukraine Sharipov noted the progressive dynamics of the mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as the importance of development of existing bilateral relations.
In addition, Sharipov provided information about the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan and important international events held this year in Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that events in honor of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Aitmatov and in deep respect and gratitude to the Kyrgyz writer and humanist of a planetary scale were held on UN platforms and in many countries around the world, and stressed the importance of the creative work of Aitmatov in the modern life of humanity, which turned the human eye to the acute problems of life on a global scale.
Aitmatov turned the common man into the main hero of millions of literary connoisseurs, developing in them feelings of love for human values, nature and history.
During the reception, a documentary on the life and work of the writer, an exhibition of the works of the winners of the All-Ukrainian Children's Painting Competition, based on the works of Aitmatov, works by of the writer, translated into Ukrainian (The Cassandra Brand, When Mountains Fall, White Cloud of Genghis Khan), and videos about the tourist and investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan were presented to the guests.
