Bishkek, Apr. 26, 2020. /Kabar/. "It's a little bit prematurely to say we're expecting a second wave of COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak,” Chief Sanitary Doctor, Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbayev said at a briefing at the Government House.
"We have different scenarios, so we have to be prepared for anything. Appropriate measures are being taken now, we have a plan to deploy additional beds, to attract additional staff.
Also today, under grant projects of the World Bank and other partners, the issues of preparing to improve the readiness of our stationary bases are all considered, and funds have been allocated for this. Now the procurement process is underway, including ventilators,” Usenbayev said.
Kyrgyzstan has reported 682 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with eight deaths and 370 recoveries so far.
