Doha hosts the first meeting of Kyrgyz-Qatar Intergovernmental Commission

Bishkek, March 14 / Kabar /. The first meeting of the intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Qatari Commission on Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation, chaired by Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev is held on March 13-14, 2017 in Doha, Qatar, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.
This commission is the first in the history of cooperation with the Arab countries. The delegation consists of representatives of key ministries and departments of the two countries, as well as the Government’s Office, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and state enterprises.
Within the framework of this Commission, the issues in trade, investment, transport, agriculture, culture, health and other spheres were discussed.
During this event, Minister Kozhoshev held bilateral meetings with Qatari Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmad bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Culture and Sport Salah bin Ganemo bin Nasero Al Ali, Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Sade, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammed Ahmed Tuar Al Kawari, General Executive Director of Nebras Power Khalid Jolo, General Director of Qatari Diyar Company Khaled Mohammed Al Sayed, and with the head of the Qatar Airways group of companies Akbar Al Baker and the leadership of Qatar Investment management.
The Kyrgyz side informed the Qatar side about the export potential and investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighting the affordability and high quality of Kyrgyz agricultural products.
In this regard, the sides discussed issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere and intensifying the interaction between the business circles of Kyrgyzstan and Qatar.
On the results of discussions, the sides reached an agreement on holding trade and economic mission and business forum in Doha in the near future, speeding up the solution of the issue of opening air flights, sharing experiences between teachers and students, holding Days of Culture of the State of Qatar in the Kyrgyz Republic.
