Dollar and euro exchange rates jump in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2022 . / Kabar /. In commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan, the dollar exchange rate for half a day reached KGS 95, and the euro – KGS 106.

Banks buy dollar at KGS 94, and euro – at KGS 105.8.

On the website of the republic’s National Bank, the official exchange rate of the dollar is KGS 84.80 and the euro - KGS 96.30.

Meanwhile, the Russian ruble rate began to fall. At the moment, ruble is bought at KGS 0.90 and sold at KGS 1.06-1.070.

According to Russian media, the ruble exchange rate collapsed at the beginning of Thursday morning trading after Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements about the decision on a special military operation in Donbass: the dollar jumped above 84 rubles for the first time since January 2016 and the euro jumped above 95 rubles for the first time since December 2014.
