Domestic violence increased during quarantine in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 29, 2020 / Kabar /. Facts of domestic violence increased in Kyrgyzstan during quarantine, mainly against women and children, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Ismailova told a news briefing in the Government House.

She said that the government is working with relevant government agencies in this direction.

“We are doing full monitoring of where and when violence occurs. Just yesterday, on this occasion, we held our negotiations with non-governmental organizations that are in charge of issues of children and women. These issues will not remain outside our attention, these issues are in priority as well as the fight against COVID-19 as a whole. We will make every effort to prevent violence,” she said.
