Draft of new military doctrine presented to Security Council of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 13, 2023. / Kabar /. A draft of a new military doctrine was presented to members of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main reason for the development of a new military doctrine was the following factors:

- adoption of a new Constitution and a new concept of National Security;

- restructuring of the public administration system;

- changes in the military-political situation in the world and in the Central Asian region;

- expansion of threats and challenges against military security;

- emerging challenges of military development and expanding requirements for responding to modern threats

The main provisions presented in the new doctrine:

- military actions against our state;

- basic principles of military policy, ensuring security, the tasks of waging war, military conflicts and state measures to prevent wars;

- basics of military development, support for the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the basics of their development;

- mobilization training of the Kyrgyz Republic, fundamentals of mobilization training and its military and economic support.

The purpose of the adoption of the new doctrine:

- calm and sustainable development, as well as the creation of favorable conditions;

- protection of citizens, institutions, statehood, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country from military threats;

- prevention of aggression.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, who chaired a meeting, said in his speech that he personally led the development of a new military doctrine of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“I have repeatedly emphasized that the increase in the defense capability of our country should be carried out only in a comprehensive manner. Practice shows that it is possible to effectively ensure the security of our state from border conflicts, armed aggression of states and other threats, as well as protect our land from the invasion of various terrorist and extremist-gangster organizations only with the help of such methods. For these purposes, in accordance with my instructions, the Ministry of Defense, together with the secretariat of the Security Council, has developed a draft of a new military doctrine,” he said.
