Drip irrigation will help solve problem of water shortage in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 3, 2020 / Kabar /. Lack of irrigation water will be noticeable this year and the drip irrigation will help solve problem of water shortage in Kyrgyzstan, the country’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation Erkinbek Choduev said today at a briefing.

In this regard, he asked farmers to rationally use water resources. “Each liter of water should be used sparingly in order to get a good harvest in the fall,” he said.

The minister expressed hope that farmers will begin to apply the drip irrigation method and grow agricultural products in greenhouses.

“The drip irrigation system is currently used on 2 thousand 408 hectares in 2 thousand 456 farms,” the minister said.
