Kyrgyz MFA's recommendations for people wishing visit China due to coronovirus outbreak

Bishkek, Jan.23, 2020. /Kabar/. In connection with the outbreak of an unknown new species of coronavirus in China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has developed recommendations for those wishing to this country.

In order to reduce the risk of this virus infection, the Foreign Ministry calls on Kyrgyzstanis who are or are planning to visit China to take the following precautions:

- To avoid visiting places of mass congregation as far as possible;

- To restrict travel to areas of China where coronavirus outbreaks have been identified;

- To use a protective mask as far as possible;

- Not to eat raw or insufficiently fried (boiled) animal products, including milk, meat and seafood;

- Not to drink unboiled water;

- To wash hands, vegetables and fruits thoroughly.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of earlier unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan in central China, TASS reported.

On January 7, Chinese specialists denoted the virus causing the disease as coronavirus 2019-nCoV. All cases of the suspected pneumonia were lab tested. As a result, infecting agents of such diseases as flu, bird flu, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) were excluded from the list of possible pathogens.

The World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines reveal that contracting the coronavirus is accompanied by the following symptoms - cold, cough, sore throat and chest congestion. Patients can also experience headaches and fever that can last up to a few days. People with low immune system, children and seniors are the high-risk group. They exhibit symptoms similar to those of pneumonia and bronchitis.
