Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2022. / Kabar /. During the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine in Kyrgyzstan, 20% of entrepreneurs working in the catering sector went bankrupt or closed, director of the Horeka Club Association Gulzat Raimbekova told during a briefing in Bishkek.

She said that many enterprises suffered because they could not cope with the burden.

“There is an opinion that the restaurant business is profitable, but no. The profitability of the business is only 15%, of which 8% must be a tax. We ask for the creation of mutually favorable conditions,” the director said.

Last month a new version of the tax code came into force in Kyrgyzstan, according to which catering representatives are required to pay 8% of the tax rate.
