Baktuu-Dolonotu, Sept. 05, 2018. /Kabar/. A kok-boru match between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Krasnoyarsk (Russian Federation) took place today at the hippodrome in Baktuu-Dolonotu village. Foreign tourists and journalists watched the game with particular interest, trying to capture heart-racing moments with their cameras.
Photographer of a Dutch informational website Johannes Weisser shared his impressions after watching the first kok-boru match in his life with Kabar News Agency, calling it rough, but fascinating.
“I heard of kok-boru about a year ago, and this has been the first time I waswatching this game live. If you ask me, this game is very rough. What I like about this game is that it is tougher, than other existing games, but at the same time, it is very beautiful and и thrilling”, he described the sport.
When he was asked whether the Dutchmen would have the courage to play it and participate in the next Games, he answered that it was unlikely.
“The Dutch are brave, but I don’t think that they will risk playing kok-boru. It’s one thing if it is played with a ball, but not with a dead animal”, the guest from the Netherlands added.
Moreover, he shared his impressions of WNG and Kyrgyzstan’s nature.
“I absolutely enjoyed kok-boru. I fell in love with Kyrchyn gorge. If the Games move to a different place, their original spirit will be lost. It seems to me that WNG belong only to the Kyrgyz people”, he concluded.
