Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2018. / Kabar /. In the trilogy of the Manas epic of Kyrgyz, the thought runs through the red thread that the real strength lies in unity and justice. In this context, I want to stress that it has long been necessary to consolidate the efforts of all OSCE member states for constructive and constructive cooperation at all levels and formats of interaction, Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Dastan Dzhumabekov told at the opening of the autumn meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Bishkek on the topic: "Promoting Security Dialogue in Central Asia and Beyond."
The Kyrgyz Speaker also explained why it is precisely Central Asia that is in the center of attention, whereas conflicts, challenges and threats come and come mainly from other regions.
“First of all, I want to note that the choice of the topic did not depend on the venue of the meeting, but proceeded from the understanding that in the matter of ensuring security, Central Asia is a key region in the entire OSCE space. Here we are talking not only about the high role of the Central Asian region in the relations between East and West,” he said.
“Central Asia is the only region in the world that links and at the same time is surrounded by four nuclear powers,” the Speaker added.
Dzhumabekov stressed the importance of Central Asian region, which is becoming even higher in the conditions of cross-border and interdependence of such international problems as terrorism, religious extremism, separatism, illicit arms trafficking and drug trafficking.
“The fact is that Central Asia is an outpost on the south-eastern borders of the OSCE, a kind of buffer zone that hinders the flows of these threats to the Eurasian space. The states located in the OSCE area are different, both in size and population, and in terms of development, but they all equally need security,” he said.
The Kyrgyz Speaker thinks that none of the states in the world is able to effectively counteract, fight and eradicate the above-mentioned problems, which have acquired unprecedented proportions of their spread.
He said that the OSCE has all the resources and ample opportunities to solve any problem of a regional or global nature, including the above-mentioned problems.
Speaker Dzhumabekov called all the parliamentarians, members of the Parliamentary Assembly to leave in the past all misunderstandings and offenses and focus the existing opportunities on improving and harmonizing national legislations to evenly implement the norms of international law in the field of ensuring all security fields.
He expressed the hope that during this autumn meeting there will be a confidential and constructive dialogue between all participants and wished successful and fruitful work.
The Kyrgyz Speaker in his speech also briefed the participants of the meeting about democratic development and efforts for the sustainable development of the country.
