Bishkek, March 4, 2024. /Kabar/. An earthquake with a magnitude of about 6 at the epicenter occurred today on the territory of Kyrgyzstan at 12.22 local time, the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The source of the earthquake was located 35 km northwest of the city of Cholpon-Ata, 40 km south of Almaty, 190 km north of Bishkek.
In populated areas, the intensity of the earthquake was 4 points in the city of Cholpon-Ata, 3.5 points felt in Bishkek, at the Kumtor mine, and Karakol.
