Tashkent, June 11, 2019 /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by its President Suma Chakrabarti to discuss the main directions of practical interaction, the UzA news agency reported.
The sides focused on the issues of acceleration of investment projects and development of loans, expansion of assistance in the promotion of economic reforms, formation of a favorable business environment and investment climate in the country.
They paid special attention to the creation and preparation of the first meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of Uzbekistan.
On behalf of the EBRD, Suma Chakrabarti reaffirmed his commitment to continue full support and multifaceted partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan and the EBRD have signed loan agreements and are preparing investment projects worth more than USD 600 million, and the EBRD have invested $100 million in private sector projects of Uzbekistan.
Socially significant programs and projects are also being developed for the amount of about $800 million.
