Tashkent, Nov.13, 2024. /Kabar/. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) may finance the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported.
First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Mamanbiy Omarov met with head of the EBRD delegation, Director of Eurasian Infrastructure Ekaterina Miroshnik to discuss issues of realization of joint projects.
The sides exchanged views on the possibilities of financing the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad.
In September 2022, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China agreed on the route of a 454-kilometer-long railway line. The final agreement on the construction of the railroad branch was signed in June this year. The share of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the joint project company will be 24.5% each, the remaining 51% will belong to China.
