At the same time, unexpectedly early, Russian airlines began to carry out charter flights to the Tamchi airport in Issyk-Kul from two cities of Russia at once. Negotiations were held on the provision of assistance from the EU to support the state budget, it was also announced how much money Kyrgyzstan pays for its public debts, and that garments from Kyrgyzstan began to be bought online in Russia.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan unexpectedly announced its intentions to provide technical assistance to Kyrgyzstan in the form of various vehicles.
In general, business activity is gradually gaining momentum and indicates a good potential of entrepreneurs and business structures in the country.
The price of fuels and lubricants. As of March 11, 2021, prices for AI-92 gasoline on average in the republic amounted to KGS 42.63.
According to data of the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, prices for petrol compared to the same date in February of this year increased by 11.5%, and prices for diesel fuel increased by 7.2%.
The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is taking all the necessary measures to prevent an increase in prices for fuels and lubricants.
Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development of the country Dzhanybekov voiced this week, due to the fact that there is a tendency of growth in prices for fuels and lubricants throughout the world, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is negotiating with oil traders to prevent further growth in prices for fuels and lubricants and ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies to the republic.
In addition, the minister pointed out that there is no deficit at all the oil depots of the republic.
Recall that the Kyrgyz Republic introduced a temporary ban on the export of oil and oil products from the country outside the EAEU.
Sown area increases. This year, the sown area of all cereals in Kyrgyzstan makes 648.9 thousand hectares, which is 2 thousand hectares more than in 2020.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the total sown area of wheat is 255.5 thousand hectares, which is 8 thousand hectares more than last year.
It is noted that this year, special attention will be paid to regional specialization.
The ministry proposes to increase the sowing of perennial grasses in order to regulate the cultivation of crops and maintain and improve soil fertility, as well as solve the problem of feed. Thus, it is expected to increase the sown area for fodder crops to 387.9 thousand hectares.
Exhibition of products. The 20th anniversary international exhibition "Foodstuffs, ingredients and production technologies - UzFood 2021" will be held in Bishkek at the National Exhibition Company (NEC) UzExpoCentre from 28 to 30 April 2021.
The Bishkek Mayor’s Office said that the exhibition will feature the following main sections: meat and poultry, dairy products, confectionery, groceries, drinks, food ingredients, food processing equipment, bakery, packaging materials and equipment.

Measures on prices. Due to the fact that since the beginning of the year there has been an increase in prices for a number of food products in Kyrgyzstan, government bodies are taking measures to regulate prices. The growth dynamics in the market ranges from 10 to 50%. The State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation of the Kyrgyz Republic associates the reason for such growth with an external factor. For example, 85% of vegetable oil is imported.
This week Deputy Director of the State Agency Keneshbek Tailakov told what measures are being taken by their body to regulate prices for food and other goods.
He noted that the rise in prices for food and other goods is happening all over the world. “This is primarily a consequence of the pandemic. We can provide ourselves with only three types of goods, everything else is imported from abroad. The average price for meat ranges from KGS 450 to KGS 500. Livestock prices have also doubled,” he said.
Plans for flights. This week it was announced that some regular flights will be increased in the near future and new routes to Turkey are planned.

The current and future cooperation between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, the budget support programs, public finance management issues, opportunities to increase the share of EU budget support to Kyrgyzstan within the 2021-2027 Multiannual Indicative Programme, as well as the main results of the European Union –Kyrgyzstan Sub-Committee Meeting on Trade and Investment held on March 15, 2021 were discussed this week.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Karmyshakov held on Wednesday a meeting with Head of the European Union Delegation, Ambassador Edward Auer and staff of the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic.
On the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to promote issues and provide financial and technical assistance from the European Union.
Gender and Trade. The opening ceremony of the bidding on gender equality in Kyrgyzstan took place this week.
The topic of the auction was The Role of Women in the Development of Business and Economy of Kyrgyzstan.” The Kyrgyz Stock Exchange (KSE) jointly with UN Women in Kyrgyzstan, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the framework of the United Nations (UN) initiative “Sustainable Stock Exchanges ”(UN SSE Initiative).
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev noted that women entrepreneurs are involved in different sectors of the Kyrgyz economy and show good results.

Business protection. Director of the State Agency for the Investments Promotion and Protection Almambet Shykmamatov met with the Secretariat of the Council for Business Development and Investment under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Talaibek Koichumanov.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the interaction of the business community and the agency as a fundamental body for attracting investments and promoting exports.

Public debt. As of Jan. 31, 2021 the amount of Kyrgyzstan’s public debt (external + internal) made up USD 4 billion 954.11 million or KGS 420 billion 108.67 million in Kyrgyz som.
According to data of the Country’s Economy Ministry, of these:
- 85.2% is the state external debt: USD 4,221.61 million (KGS 357,992.44 million);
- 14.8% is the state internal debt: USD 732.50 million (KGS 62,116.23 million).
The amount of public debt is determined by the Government taking into account international indices of debt sustainability and is provided in the law on the national budget for the next fiscal year and two forecast periods.
Kazakhstan’s deliveries. As part of increasing the turnover, Kazakhstan expressed readiness to supply 200 police patrol cars and 250 buses, as well as Airbus light helicopters to Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Finance said that on March 15, 2021 a meeting was held between Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance Ulukbek Karmyshakov and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, where current issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation between the countries were discussed.
It was noted that the spread of coronavirus infection had a negative impact on trade and economic relations between the two countries, in connection with which the previously reached agreements to increase bilateral trade to USD 1 billion were not implemented.
It was also agreed to make efforts to overcome the consequences of the epidemiological crisis for the development of bilateral relations, capacity building and implementation of tasks set by presidents of the two countries.
Seasonal flight. The first seasonal flight from Moscow to Issyk-Kul was planned this week.
The press service of Manas International Airport said that the Ekaterinburg - Tamchy flight will be operated on March 21.
The flights will be operated by modern Airbus airliners.
By agreement with Ural Airlines OJSC, seasonal flights are being launched on the route Yekaterinburg - Tamchy (Issyk-Kul International Airport) - Yekaterinburg. An agreement was reached on the possibility of increasing flights from Yekaterinburg (Ural Federal District, Russia) to the cities of Bishkek and Osh in the summer.
The opening of these directions will make a significant contribution to ensuring the 2021 tourist season in Issyk-Kul.

Ban on export. The Government of Kyrgyzstan imposed a ban on the export of sugar and vegetable oil.
Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development of the country Askarbek Dzhanybekov said that according to data for 2020, 56% of sugar is produced by domestic companies, the remaining 44% is imported from neighboring countries. In this regard, due to rising sugar prices in Russia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, there is also a tendency of rising prices of socially important food products in the Kyrgyz Republic.
"Currently, in order to prevent a shortage of essential products in the country and reduce the price of them, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov signed a decree, according to which the export of sugar and vegetable oil from the country is prohibited,” the minister added.
