Bishkek, Jan.14, 2025. /Kabar/. Analysts of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) state that for the last two years the economy of Central Asia has been growing at rates exceeding the world average.

Meanwhile, the EDB emphasizes that the region's investment potential is capable of ensuring high development indicators in the long term. The region's population has reached 80 million and foreign investment continues to increase.

“On average, the Central Asian economy grew at an annual rate of 4.7% between 2022 and 2024. This is more than 40% faster than the world as a whole. EDB estimates that Central Asia's nominal GDP will be around $520 billion in 2024, thus surpassing the half-trillion mark.

Central Asia has become a large and rapidly growing economy. It is interesting for investment and also as a sales market. Its transport and transit potential are attractive. This is a large, rapidly growing and highly important economic region in the heart of Eurasia,” Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chief Economist of EDB Evgeny Vinokurov said.

The Eurasian Development Bank draws attention to the fact that major infrastructure projects are being implemented in the region, including the creation of a regional transport framework, diversification of logistics chains and renewable energy sources. The region's geo-economic landscape is becoming increasingly attractive for investment and in a wide range of areas.
