Economy of Kyrgyzstan is most open in Central Asian region - Amangeldiev

Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2023. /Kabar/. The economy of Kyrgyzstan is the most open in the Central Asian region, and such areas as industry and agriculture are mainly export-oriented, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev, told speaking at the XI meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States.

He said that the operational measures taken in the economy by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic have now made it possible to improve the situation in industry. Over the past 5 years, the industry of Kyrgyzstan has shown positive growth dynamics.

The minister emphasized that the industry of Kyrgyzstan is one of the main sectors of the economy, providing about 20% of the gross domestic product, about 18% of tax revenues to the republican budget and more than 80% of exports.

“A strong and sustainable industry is the engine for the long-term and stable development of our countries’ economies now and in the future. If there is mutual agreement, our efforts, multiplied by resources, will allow us to achieve all goals for each country, and also strengthen the geopolitical influence of our participants, making them stronger participants in world affairs,” Amangeldiev noted.

The minister emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is ready to work to increase the industrial development of the country based on the principles of ensuring mutually beneficial cooperation, compliance with the principles of a market economy and taking into account the national interests of the parties, getting involved in the processes of industrial cooperation, creating new projects of cooperative interaction.
