Bishkek, July 25, 2022. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov met with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
In his welcoming remarks, Baisalov emphasized that strengthening interethnic harmony is seen as one of the government's highest priorities.
Having told about the current work on increasing the efficiency of state administration under the new constitutional structure, the deputy head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet noted that in order to improve the effectiveness of state policy on interethnic relations and further strengthen the unity of the people, the concept of civil identity "Kyrgyz Zharany" for 2021-2026 was approved.
In addition, the Kyrgyz Republic has implemented a set of legislative measures to ensure the inclusive participation of ethnic minorities in the electoral process and political life.
Baisalov expressed his gratitude to the Office of the High Commissioner for its support and expressed readiness to further develop cooperation.
In his turn, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov highly appreciated the state-building policy pursued by the Kyrgyz Republic and confirmed readiness to support the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening interethnic harmony.
The concept Kyrgyz Zharany 2021-2026 provides for the following directions of the state's inter-ethnic strategy:
Forming an understanding of civic identity;
Strengthening unity, increasing tolerance and preserving diversity;
Development of the state language and preservation of multilingualism;
Creation of equal conditions in access to governance and decision-making;
Increasing confidence in the state authorities.
