Bishkek, May 14, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov received new UNICEF Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Samman Jung Thapa.
The deputy chairman congratulated him on his appointment as UNICEF representative in the Kyrgyz Republic, wishing him further success in his post and noted that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the activities of UNICEF aimed at implementing projects and programs in the field of social policy, protecting the rights and interests of children.
Edil Baisalov expressed gratitude to UNICEF for the assistance provided in the return of children from combat zones in Iraq and Syria.
He especially noted the importance of supporting and assisting the organization in increasing the capacity of social workers working with children, including those in difficult life situations, children of migrant workers, without parental care and the disabled, as well as in the rehabilitation of repatriated children.
At the same time, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, emphasizing the importance of further effective interaction and the implementation of joint projects to improve the living standards of children.
In conclusion, UNICEF representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Samman Jung Thapa noted the readiness for further fruitful work to protect and support children.
