Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2021 / Kabar /. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Skills Development Fund (SDF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, the Ministry of Education said.
The Skills Development Fund signed similar memorandums with the Agency for Primary Professional Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Investments Promotion and Protection Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Trade Unions, the International Business Council, the Association for the Development of Education in Kyrgyzstan, The Association of Chefs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Association of Private Employment Agencies, the Union of Young Disabled Persons of Chui Oblast, The Kyrgyz Association for Adult Education, The Association of Public Catering Enterprises, the Industry Center for Independent Certification of Professional Competences and Skills in the Public Catering Industry and others.
The Skills Development Fund negotiates with employers' associations, investment projects, local governments, government agencies and other customers in order to prepare for the organization and conduct of short-term courses (from 1 to 6 months) for everyone aged 16 to 63 years old on orders from employers.
Currently, 67 educational institutions of the republic (colleges, lyceums, private educational centers) have been selected and approved, which have passed the selection (pre-qualification) in the SDF and lists of 99 professions for them for short-term courses.
The Skills Development Fund was formed in 2016 as part of a project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Asian Bank, since 2020 the SDF has been operating as an independent institution.
In previous years, the Skills Development Fund trained 22,794 people, of which 75% were employed.
