EEC shares achievements in transportation at IRF 2024 World Congress in Istanbul

Bishkek, Oct. 16, 2024. /Kabar/. Minister for Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Arzybek Kozhoshev discussed sustainable development of transport systems at the World Congress 2024, organized by the International Road Federation (IRF) in Istanbul (Republic of Turkey).

The main topic of the event was the expansion of mobility, the EEC said.

The EEC minister informed the World Congress participants about the key integration achievements in the field of transportation in the Eurasian space. He also emphasized the importance of introducing digital solutions in transport activities, sharing experience and stimulating the development of the road sector.

The discussion on sustainable transport development continued within the framework of the bilateral meeting of Minister Kozhoshev with Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

The EEC energy minister believes that interaction with the authorized bodies of partner states allows maintaining a high level of competence, sharing experience and working effectively to reduce the number of obstacles and barriers to transport.

The parties noted the importance of industry dialog and expressed readiness to develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The International Road Federation (IRF) was established in 1948. To support the efforts of member governments to develop national programs for the construction and development of road networks, to collect and disseminate statistical, technical, economic, training and other materials related to the development of road systems. The Federation holds world congresses every 4 years and international regional conferences every 2 years for countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North and South America, Asia and the Pacific.
