EFSD to consider financing of digital programs in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan Talantbek Imanov held talks with Executive Director of the Project Unit of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) Andrey Shirokov.

During the meeting, held as part of Minister Imanov’s working visit to Moscow, the sides discussed in detail the financing of digital programs in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Andrey Shirokov stressed that the EFSD Project Unit is ready to consider financing the development of digital services in the republic for $40 million in the near future.

In turn, Talantbek Imanov thanked Shirokov, noting that the Ministry of Digital Development makes every effort to ensure that cooperation with development partners is effective and long-term.

"Cooperation with the EFSD is an important element in the development of relations as one of the main strategic partners of the Kyrgyz Republic. The development of the national and regional integrated digital infrastructure today is a priority task of the state, and all efforts will be aimed at qualitative improvement of digital services development for the population of the Kyrgyz Republic," the Kyrgyz minister.

The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) is an $8.5 billion regional financial mechanism established in 2009 by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

The EFSD's mission is to help member states ensure long-term economic and financial stability and promote economic integration among them.
