EIB sign Vienna Communique on Kambarata HPP-1

Bishkek, Dec. 7, 2024 . / Kabar / . Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev met with Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Kyriakos Kakouris.

Representatives of the European Investment Bank emphasized their readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to develop its energy potential, the Energy Ministry said.

In turn, Minister Ibraev expressed gratitude to international partners for supporting key infrastructure projects aimed at sustainable development of the country.

The parties noted the importance of Kambarata HPP-1 as a strategic project aimed at increasing energy security, improving water resources management, strengthening regional cooperation and accelerating the transition to clean energy in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.

The key outcome of the meeting was the signing of the Vienna Communiqué "Unlocking Investment Potential for a Green Future for the Kyrgyz Republic and Central Asia" by the European Investment Bank.

The signatories of this communiqué express readiness for further cooperation in the framework of the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

The European Investment Bank is a member of the Donor Coordination Committee for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1.
