Bishkek, Feb.17, 2020. /Kabar/. There are 3 thousand 766 veterinarians in Kyrgyzstan, of whom 2 thousand 565 are private, Kalysbek Jumakanov, Director of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety Inspectorate said at the meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament).
According to Jumakanov’s data, there are 8 slaughterhouses in Kyrgyzstan that meet international standards.
"They are included in a register granting the right to export agricultural products. This register includes 114 enterprises engaged in the production of meat, milk, honey and fish. There are agreements with private veterinarians. In a word, we have provided them with jobs, every private veterinarian has a region that is under his responsibility," Jumakanov said.
According to the press service of the Parliament, the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development has heard about functioning of the office of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety of the Kyrgyz Republic and the industry priorities for 2020.
