Election silence starts in Kyrgyzstan before voting day

Bishkek, Oct. 3, 2020 / Kabar /. A day of silence has started in Kyrgyzstan; the election campaign of candidates ended on Oct. 3 at midnight. On the day of silence, voters can once again analyze the candidate's program and make their choice.

On this day, political parties are not allowed to campaign.

Also, the media and online publications accredited by the Central Election Commission (CEC) to participate in campaigning are not entitled to conduct it.

In case of violation of the day of silence by the participants of the electoral process, the CEC has the right to take measures against the violator.

Parliamentary elections will be held on Oct. 4, 2020.

A total of 16 parties take part in the elections:

1. Ata-Meken

2. Bir-Bol

3. Birimdik

4. Zamandash

5. Kyrgyzstan

6. Mekenim Kyrgyzstan

7. Mekenim Yntymagy

8. Mekenchil

9. Ordo

10. Party of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan and Participants of other local military conflicts

11. Respublika

12. Reforma

13. Social Democrats

14. Chon Kazat

15. Yiman Nuru

16. Butun Kyrgyzstan

In total, according to the website tizme.gov.kg, 3 million 523 thousand 554 voters were registered for the elections.

And 32 thousand 602 Kyrgyz citizens will vote abroad.

In total, 2 thousand 474 polling stations will work at the elections of the parliament members.
