Elections 2021. Over 11 thsd militiamen to be involved in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 30, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs is ready to ensure a high level of public order and security during the preparation and conduct of upcoming elections and referendum, Deputy Interior Minister of the country Oktyabr Urmanbetov said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He added all violations registered during the elections will be thoroughly investigated and measures will be taken.

"A total of more than 11 thousand militiamen will be involved in ensuring law and order, of which more than 5 thousand will be assigned to ensure security at 2,405 polling stations. At the same time, 215 groups of documenting have been established to resolve and take quick measures in case of violation of election legislation. 1.5 thousand employees and 380 vehicles will monitor the safety of road traffic,” the deputy minister said.

Urmanbetov noted that more than 6 thousand people from volunteer’s guard will assist law enforcement officials.

On April 11, elections will be held in 448 local councils of Kyrgyzstan, 28 of which are city ones.
