Bishkek, Sept. 7, 2020 / Kabar /. “The election process fell on the period of the coronavirus pandemic. This requires even greater social responsibility from all participants in the process,” Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov said at a meeting of the Republican headquarters on COVID-19, the government press service reported.
“During the campaign, parties and voters must strictly observe the sanitary standards and requirements. There must be appropriate control. In addition, it is necessary to ensure proper epidemiological surveillance on the territory of the republic on the day of elections,” said the head of government.
He also noted that, according to the decision of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the near future, a plan will be approved to prevent the infection of citizens, employees of election commissions and other persons involved in the electoral process with coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia during visits to polling stations on the election day.
During the meeting of the headquarters, issues of construction and equipping of healthcare facilities were also considered.
The prime minister also instructed to strengthen information work with the population regarding compliance with sanitary rules.
