Embassies will have to promote domestic products and attract investment: acting head of Cabinet

Bishkek, Oct. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be entrusted with the function of attracting foreign investments, Acting Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Akylbek Zhaparov said during a parliament meeting on Wednesday.

He explained why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was transformed into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Investments.

"All of our ambassadors will have to assist to promote products made in Kyrgyzstan. And our ambassadors are engaged in meeting delegations, participating in conferences. Therefore, we will give the Foreign Ministry more functions, raise their salaries, but they will have to help in the promotion of Kyrgyz products. Also, each embassy will be given more than 100 business projects, based on which they will have to attract investment in the country," Zhaparov said.
