Bishkek, Mar. 22, 2019. /Kabar/. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Ukraine took part in the annual celebration of the international Nooruz holiday, which was organized jointly with the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Outlook international project.
During the event, the participants and guests were presented the rich cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people, especially the Kyrgyz cuisine and brochures on tourism and investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic were distributed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Embassy staff told visitors about the traditions, way of life, cultural values and applied art of the Kyrgyz people, the meanings of national traditional clothing, as well as students studying in Ukraine, performed songs in Kyrgyz language.
The corner of Kyrgyzstan presented by the Embassy aroused great interest among visitors.
Nooruz or Nowruz is celebrated on the spring equinox, usually on March 21, and marks the beginning of a new year according to the astronomical solar calendar of the Iranian and Turkic peoples.
