Since the beginning of this year, 19 emergency situations were registered in Kyrgyzstan, which killed 54 people, head of the Civil Protection and Emergency Rescue Department of the republic’s Ministry of Emergency Situations Yryspek Zholdoshbayev told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
"Most of all people die as a result of traffic accidents, as well as those who drowned. In Chui and Jalal-Abad Oblasts, 10 people, as well as 20 children died," he informed.
Zholdoshbayev noted that the reason for the large number of drowning victims is swimming in prohibited places, fast-flowing streams and not paying proper attention to children by their parents during bathing.
