Bishkek, March 26, 2018 / Kabar /. The delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan headed by Minister Kubatbek Boronov took part in the 51st session of the Executive Council of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) in Doha, Qatar.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that, the 51st session of the ICDO Executive Council was held under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side and heads of 22 member states of the Organization took part in it.
During the session, key issues of the Organization's achievements over the last five years in the field of disaster risk reduction, ensuring civil defense and protecting the population in emergency situations were discussed.
As a result of this event, the report of the Secretary General of ICDO was adopted.
In addition, during the period from 27 to 28 March, the 23rd session of the General Assembly of ICDO will be held, which is the key event of the Organization.
ICDO is the only intergovernmental organization specializing in the field of civil defense and protection at the international level, which includes 55 states as full members, 19 states have observer status.
Kyrgyzstan is a full member since 2011. In April 2014, during the 21st session of the General Assembly of ICDO in Geneva the Kyrgyz Republic became members of the Executive Council of ICDO, which is one of the executive bodies of the Organization.
