Bishkek, Mar. 14, 2019. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic shares its experience in introducing a multilingual education program in kindergartens with colleagues from Kazakhstan.
The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that directors of 19 kindergartens in Almaty, Shymkent and Turkestan oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of education departments and methodologists of the Orleu National Center for Advanced Studies gathered in Bishkek to get acquainted with the experience of the multilingual education programs in kindergartens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the workshop on planning programs for multilingual education and visits to pre-school educational organizations in Bishkek (No. 5, 28, 53), representatives of Kazakhstan will discuss various models and approaches, as well as the conditions for developing understanding and communication skills in the state and/or official languages.
Pre-school educational organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic began implementing multilingual education programs in 2015. Today, the program of multilingual education is implemented by 16 kindergartens in Bishkek and Osh, another 30 kindergartens in Bishkek, Osh, Batken and Osh oblasts entered the preparatory phase in the current year.
In the framework of further cooperation of representatives of preschool education systems of the two countries, training seminars for teachers and language teachers, exchange of experience, and practical advice for kindergarten teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan are provided.
The seminar had been organized by the Center for Social Integration together with the Center for Innovative Technologies of the Republican Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Teachers with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and financial assistance from the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.
