End of intellectual games of III WNG. Names of winners of “African Kings” tournament

Bishkek, Sept. 11, 2018. /Kabar/. A tournament within the Third World Nomad Games in “ovari” intellectual game concluded in Issyk-Kul, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Ovari is a game from Central Africa. The game is described as follows on the Internet: Ovari was a part of military training in Ghana – before a campaign warriors always sat beside a board to test their reaction. When the king passed away, the council organized a tournament, and the winner succeeded him.

Unlike toguz korgool, there are 6 holes for each player, instead of 9. Before the start, each of them is filled with 4 “seeds”. The one who captures the most – 24 – is the winner.

54 sportsmen (35 men, 17 women) from 33 countries of the world took part in the competitions.

A team from Antigua and Barbuda took the first place in team competitions among men: Trevor Simon and Суril Christian. They won 40 thousand soms. The second place is held by Ghanaians Ayirugu Azasemi and Gordon Akrugu. They received 30 thousand soms. Kyrgyzstan is on the third place of the list: Kuban Sazaev and Anarbek Dzhamakeev, they received 20 thousand soms.

Among women, “the strongest” players are Kazakhstanis - Asel Dalieva and Diana Kenina. The “silver” was awarded to Kyrgyzstan: Altynay Shambetova and Janyl Sagynbekova. The team from Russia (Sakha) won the third place for its country: Darina Potalova and Olga Korotkih.

5 place – Ernur Mereshov (Kazakhstan) 10 thousand soms;

6 place – Anarbek Dzhamakeev (Kyrgyzstan), 5 thousand soms;
