Cholpon-Ata, Sept. 06, 2018. /Kabar/. Intellectual sports competitions have been taking place at Eurasia Guest House in Issyk-Kul from September 2 within the Third World Nomad Games.
The programme included toguz korgool, mangal and ovari.
36 teams from 34 countries of the world and all the continents, except for Australia, are taking part in the competitions. Russia is represented by teams from Altay and Yakutia.
Toguz korgool – 85 sportsmen (58 men, 27 women).
Mangal – 57 sportsmen (40 men, 17 men).
Ovari – 54 sportsmen (35 men, 17 men) registered. The ovari competitions start on September 6. The competitions are held separately for men and women.
“Masters of sports of the international class are taking part in the competitions. At present the leading mangala team is the Kyrgyz team, which won 4 gold, 2 silver medals. In addition, I would like to take note of the achievements of the young national team of the USA, besides that, the Uzbek team has entered the top three for the first time. In 2016, in the Second World Nomad Games Kyrgyzstan achieved best results, and I hope that this year the new members of the team will show excellent results. Funds have been allocated out of the budget of the Directorate for National Sports under the State Agency, for organizing training camps. This shows that today the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic gives due attention to development of intellectual sports”, President of the International Mangala Federation Kamchybek Kasymov said.

2 place - Kuban Sazaev – 6 (Kyrgyzstan)
3 place – Maksat Shotaev – 5,5 (Kazakhstan)

2 place – Kazakhstan – 10,5
3 place – Uzbekistan – 9

1 place – Aziza Jamansartova – 6,5 points (Kyrgyzstan) – progress rate 26
2 place – Adina Aseyeva – 6,5 points (Kyrgyzstan) - progress rate 25,5
3 place – Gulnara Bazaralieva – 6 (Kazakhstan).

1 place – Kyrgyzstan – 13 points
2 place – Kazakhstan – 11
3 place – USA – 7,5.
Mangala is an intellectual strategic game of the Turkish people. It is played by two individuals. There are six identical holes on each side of the game board, arranged in two rows. In total, they constitute 12 small holes. Apart from that, there are larger storage holes - kazans, where the players collect the stones they won. The mangala game is played with 48 stones.
