Bishkek, Dec.30, 2019./Kabar/. Ensuring human rights and freedoms in the Kyrgyz Republic is one of the main goals of the country's development, which is intended to improve the situation of citizens by creating decent living conditions, guaranteeing freedom and inviolability of the individual and social protection, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Jenish Razakov said at the final session of the Coordination Council on Human Rights under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The deputy prime minister noted more than 20 issues of human rights were discussed in the platform of the Coordination Council in 2019.
"National reports in the sphere of protection of human rights and freedoms, implementation of international obligations in the sphere of human rights were discussed on the platform of Coordination Council.
Meetings were held with a number of UN special rapporteurs. The Human Rights Action Plan for 2019-2021, adopted with a view to implementing the recommendations resulting from Kyrgyzstan's submission of national reports on the implementation of international human rights instruments, was approved. The Kyrgyz Republic, as a party to all fundamental international human rights treaties, will continue to improve mechanisms to ensure the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms and the implementation of international human rights obligations as part of the Coordination Council's work," Jenish Razakov said.
The meeting considered and took note of the draft report of the Coordination Council on its work in 2019, approved the draft work plan for 2020, taking into account the proposals received, and heard information on the implementation of the Council's decisions and the work plan for 2019, as well as considered other issues within the Coordination Council’s competence.
