Epidemiological situation in Kyrgyzstan for today tending to decrease

Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. Epidemiological situation in Kyrgyzstan as of Aug. 18 is tending to decrease, Deputy Health Minister of the republic Mademin Karatayev told a news briefing.

He said the peak period for cases registered was on Aug. 13 – 19, 2020, adding that since Aug. 10, there has been a 40% decline compared to the previous week.

"Positive results of PCR-analysis among tested persons in the last week was 4.9%. While in the 17th week there were 23.1% positive results," the deputy minister added.

He noted that the estimated effective reproductive number was calculated according to the methodology of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) and WHO, that is, the number of people who can infect at the rate of 1 patient before his isolation.

For example, on July 2, 2020 if the index was about 2 people, then on Aug. 16, 2020 this index made 0.8 people.
