Epidemiological situation in Kyrgyzstan is stable

Bishkek, Jan. 8, 2024. /Kabar/. The epidemiological situation regarding influenza and COVID-19 is stable in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Health reported.

According to operational data from the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, in the 1st week of 2024 (Jan. 1-7. 2024), 8,201 cases of influenza and ARVI were registered throughout the republic (influenza rate 116.3) compared to week 52 (index 194.5) incidence down by -40.2%. Of all cases, 72.27% are children under 14 years of age (5961 cases).

Since October, 1315 tests have been taken from patients; according to laboratory results, the epidemic season is due to influenza A/H3N2.

There is also a circulation of acute respiratory viral infections, with the prevalence of rhinovirus 35.4%, respiratory syncytial virus 24.2%, parainfluenza 20% and other viruses accounted for 20.4%.

Monitoring and assessment of the epidemiological situation regarding the incidence of influenza, ARVI and COVID-19 in the republic continues.

The COVID-19 epidemiological situation is assessed as stable. According to monitoring data, from 2 to 6 cases are recorded weekly. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 206 thousand cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country, of which 491 cases were registered in 2023 (int.pok 6.8 cases per 100 thousand population).
