Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2021. / Kabar /. The epidemiological situation in Kyrgyzstan has been stabilizing, head of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for the Control of Viral Infections Zuridin Nurmatov told at a briefing.

“Currently, the number of cases of infection has been declining, and the epidemiological situation has been stabilizing. This is a huge merit of citizens who strictly adhere to preventive measures and make a vaccine, as well as doctors, whose unbearable contribution is made to the fight against COVID-19 every day,” he said.

In addition, Nurmatov said that there is also a clear decrease in the incidence rate in all regions, and the number of people receiving treatment is decreasing every day.

Thus, today 3,276 citizens receive treatment for COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan, which is 5.8 times less than in the same period last month (19,203).

In turn, over the past week, only 1,830 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, which is 4 times less than in the same period last month (7,804).

"Note that the majority of citizens who are sick with COVID-19 and undergoing treatment are 99% of unvaccinated persons," added the head of the center.

In conclusion, Zuridin Nurmatov stressed that it is too early to relax. “COVID-19 is a new and not fully studied infection, and no one knows how the virus can behave, but at the same time it is known for sure that antibodies are needed to get rid of the virus, which appear only after receiving a vaccine or recovery after the disease, there are no other measures,” he summed up.
