Bishkek, Oct. 18, 2021 / Kabar /. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of Kyrgyzstan reported that every year in the autumn-winter period there is an increase in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI).

Every year since 40 weeks there has been a gradual increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, this is facilitated by the high resistance of the influenza virus to low temperatures and a decrease in human defenses during hypothermia.

An epidemiological analysis of the situation shows that in 2020, a high incidence was noted in December.

Since October of this year, there has been a gradual increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections.

According to operational data, compared to the previous week there is a slight increase in the incidence of ARVI, and compared with the same week of 2020, the incidence is 2.4 times higher. 94% of cases are children under 14 years old.

According to preliminary epidemiological forecasts, an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza is expected from the second half of December this year. Currently, the epidemiological situation in the republic is stable.

In order to strengthen the complex of preventive measures and stabilize morbidity among the population in the upcoming epidemic season, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic purchased 134,000 doses of the influenza vaccine "Grippol Plus". This vaccine is intended for vaccination of risk groups (persons with chronic diseases, children with frequent illnesses, children of orphanages, boarding schools, pregnant women, medical workers, etc.) free of charge.
