Epidemiological situation remains extremely difficult – Kyrgyz PM

Bishkek, July 7, 2020 / Kabar /. The epidemiological situation in the republic remains extremely difficult, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said.

Over the past few days, more than 300 COVID-19 cases have been detected daily in the country, he noted.

“On some days, this figure exceeded 500 people with a diagnosis of COVID-19. The situation was further aggravated with the increase in the number of people with community-acquired pneumonia, which is a consequence of coronavirus infection. This led to the fact that medical facilities daily record deaths caused by both coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia,” the prime minister said.

He said that it should be objectively recognized that the domestic health care system faced an unprecedented burden due to the sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation in Bishkek and Chui oblast.

“The situation is very complicated, difficult, and we bear the entire responsibility for it. Every day, our citizens are faced with the problems of receiving medical care in hospitals. Queues in hospitals and the fast filling of hospital beds are today's reality,” he said.

The prime minister added that daily new places are being sought for hospitalization of people, day hospitals are open not only in Bishkek and Chui oblast. “Similar work is now being carried out in all regions of the country,” said Boronov.
