Bishkek, Oct.3, 2018. / Kabar /. Ethnic Kyrgyz living in the town of Yenifakyl in Van province opened a tailor’s shop for the production of leather products with motifs of ancient Kyrgyz patterns.
According to haberler.com, ethnic Kyrgyz were resettled in Van in 1982 from the Great and Small Pamirs. Ethnic Kyrgyz process animal skins, turning them into horse saddles, belts, wallets and handbags, which are completely handcrafted. Patterns and drawings on the products are made with great delicacy. Thus, the Kyrgyz people continue their culture and ensure their livelihood by selling these products.
Mayor of the town Yalchin Karadavut said that for the first time in Turkey, a production workshop for the manufacture of horse saddles opened. “The natives of the Great and Small Pamirs of Kyrgyz origin were born, they are trying to continue their traditional craft here, we will provide all the opportunities of our municipality to our friends.
