Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2023. /Kabar/. The ethno-festival "Kymyz-FEST-2023" was held on Saturday at the Chunkurchak jailoo, the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Ainura Askarova, Governor of Chui Oblast Kanat Zhumagaziev, Presidential Advisor Cholponbek Abykeev, representatives of culture, public figures and guests from different regions.
During the festival, a yurt camp was set up, master classes in making kymyz, a thoroughbred cattle fair were shown, tournaments in tug-of-war, arm wrestling and mas-wrestling were also held.
The purpose of the festival is to popularize the national drink - kymyz, informing the younger generation about the history and culture of kymyz and its beneficial effect on human health.
Kumis is a foamy fermented milk drink made from mare's milk through a fermentation process.
