The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan clarifies the reasons for the EU decision to postpone the allocation of EUR 6 million for digitalization in the Kyrgyz Republic, First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Artem Novikov said on Wednesday at a meeting of the Kyrgyz Parliament at the Ala-Archa state residence.
MP Ainuru Altybaeva stated that the European Union postponed its decision to allocate to Kyrgyzstan EUR 6 million, which should have been spent on fiscal processes, which would have taken 48% of the economy out of the shadows, as well as additional sources for social payments. The deputy asked if this would now have an impact on pensions and benefits.
Artem Novikov answered the information about the postponement of the allocation of funds has indeed arrived and now the reasons for this decision are being investigated by the Ministry of Finance.
"This project was planned for three years. EUR 6 million were planned for the digitalization sector. It is not directly related to fiscal procedures. The work on fiscal procedures is carried out in the approved schedule. This loan will not affect these processes," he said.
The deputy PM also said the Government will pay all pensions and allowances in full by the end of the year.
