Bishkek, April 25 / Kabar /. Chief of the President’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met today with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on joint work to further strengthen the entire range of priority areas of Kyrgyz-European cooperation, which are of mutual interest.
In particular, they discussed the topical issues to implement the agreements reached after the visit of the Kyrgyz President Atambayev to institutions of the European Union in Brussels in February this year.
Isakov told about reforms in Kyrgyzstan and measures taken to strengthen stability and sustainable development in the country, fight against corruption and improvement of the electoral process, he also expressed interest of the Kyrgyz side in the participation of EU representatives in promoting the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic to build a high-tech national project "Taza Koom."
EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian said that Kyrgyzstan is a good example in the Central Asian region for holding fair and transparent elections and stressed the importance of continuing the ongoing reforms in Kyrgyzstan for the democratic development of the country.
He also noted the readiness of the European side to render all possible assistance in Taza Koom project, which is aimed at increasing the transparency of the public administration system and will become a powerful tool for preventing corruption.
Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Czech Republic Cesare De Montis also took part in the meeting.
