EU Special Representative for Central Asia congratulates Zhaparov on his victory in presidential elections

Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2021 / Kabar /. European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov on his victory in the presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the election headquarters of the candidate for the post of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov said.

“On behalf of the EU, I wish you every success as president in these difficult times for your country. The EU stands ready to continue to work with you and your government, both bilaterally and regionally, to help you advance reforms and strengthen your country's resilience and prosperity, in line with the principles of the recently concluded Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation.

The EU strongly believes in democracy, open government and an active civil society as key elements of sustainable development, which have proven to be strong pillars of our prosperity and stability. We understand the enormous challenges your country is facing and want to continue to provide assistance by sharing best practices and knowledge. The EU-CA Economic Forum, which is scheduled later this year in Bishkek, will largely serve as a good opportunity to promote environmental and sustainable recovery and development in Central Asia. I hope that I will be able to visit your country as soon as possible to further discuss the possibilities of strengthening our bilateral cooperation,” the congratulatory message says.
